Record #191951:

A new species of Thaumastoderma (Gastrotricha: Macrodasyida) from the Antarctic deep sea with a phylogenetic analysis of the whole genus / Alexander Kieneke.

Title: A new species of Thaumastoderma (Gastrotricha: Macrodasyida) from the Antarctic deep sea with a phylogenetic analysis of the whole genus / Alexander Kieneke.
Author(s): Kieneke, Alexander.
Date: 2010.
In: Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom. (2010.), Vol. 90(3) (2010)
Abstract: Describes single specimen of Thaumastoderma antarctica collected from silty deep sea sediment in Drake Passage during January-February 2002. New species is characterized by several apomorphic features, including caudal pair of strongly elongated morsal cirrata tubes. Phylogenetic analysis of genus Thaumastoderma indicates that Thaumastoderma antarctica is closely related to Th. coronarium and Th. appendiculatum, and offers evolutionary scenario and hypothesis for internal phylogeny of this taxon while supporting its monophyly.
