Abstract: Reports analysis of environmental samples (water, soil and plants) collected during polar summer of 2005 in Scott Glacier region for assessment of heavy metal content and radioactivity. Concentration of heavy metals varied in analyzed samples, but was usually arranged in following sequence (starting with greatest concentration): Fe, Mn, Zn, Pb, Cu, Cd. Radioactivity of soil, rock and plant samples revealed decrease in relation to values measured shortly after Chernobyl accident, with natural gamma radioactivity now dominant.
