Water masses in Kangerlussuaq, a large fjord in west Greenland: the processes of formation and the associated foraminiferal fauna / Morten Holtegaard Nielsen, Dorthe Reng Erbs-Hansen, Karen Luise Knudsen.

Title: Water masses in Kangerlussuaq, a large fjord in west Greenland: the processes of formation and the associated foraminiferal fauna / Morten Holtegaard Nielsen, Dorthe Reng Erbs-Hansen, Karen Luise Knudsen.
Author(s): Nielsen, Morten Holtegaard.

Date: 2010.
In: Polar Research. (2010.), Vol. 29(2) (2010)
Abstract: Investigates water masses in Kangerlussuaq (Søndre Strømfjord) during both summer and winter field surveys, with aim of improving understanding of relationship between physical oceanography and modern foraminiferal assemblage distributions. Finds that occurrence of different foraminiferal species and species groups are related to physical water-mass characteristics at sea floor as well as to availability of nutrients.
