Record #191679:

Family forest owners' opinions about forest management in northern Finland / Ville Hallikainen, and 3 others.

Title: Family forest owners' opinions about forest management in northern Finland / Ville Hallikainen, and 3 others.
Author(s): Hallikainen, Ville.
Date: 2010.
In: Silva Fennica. (2010.), Vol. 44(2) (2010)
Abstract: Investigates attitudes towards present forest management activities of non-industrial private forest owners ("family forest owners") whose forest holdings are located in northern Finland. Also creates forest owner typology and studies relationship between typology and forest owners' background. Results show that both commercial timber production and multiple-use forestry are important for forest owners; also that non-timber products (e.g. game, berries and forest mushrooms) are considered more important than biodiversity, conservation of endangered species, tourism and reindeer herding.
