| Abstract: | Investigates prevalence of anaemia in pregnancy in Monchegorsk, north-west Russia, and analyses association with birth weight and risk of stillbirth and pre-term birth, using data from Kola Birth Registry. Finds that prevalence of anaemia increased from 43.7% in 1970s to 89.8% at beginning of 2000s; also that infants born to women with anaemia were 48 grammes heavier than infants of non-anaemic women. |
