| Abstract: | Presents and evaluates results of optically stimulated luminescence dating of 10 samples from mineral- and organic-rich sediments from new Pilgrimstad section. Site is considered important for reconstructing environmental changes during last (Weichselian) glacial period and has been assigned an Early Weichselian age (marine isotope stage (MIS) 5 a/c; > 74 ka). Since new results controversially place Pilgrimstad Interglacial in marine isotope stage MIS 3, paper focuses on methodology and reliability of OSL ages, rather than their palaeoglaciological and palaeoecological implications. |
