Record #191604:

Emerging technologies / David Van Stempfoot, and 7 others.

Title: Emerging technologies / David Van Stempfoot, and 7 others.
Author(s): Van Stempfoot, David.
Date: 2008.
Publisher: Cambridge: Cambridge University Press
In: Bioremediation of petroleum hydrocarbons in cold regions. (2008.),
Abstract: Discusses emerging technologies in soil bioremediation (low-cost heating for engineered bioremediation, micro-bioventing, phyto-remediation and rhizosphere enhancement) and discusses site-specific criteria with institutional controls. Discusses groundwater treatment, covering initial indicators of potential (role of temperature in laboratory tests under aerobic and anaerobic conditions, field evidence on biodegradation rates), published information on bioremediation of hydrocarbons in groundwater at cold climate sites, and practical and developing water treatment methods such as permeable reactive barriers (PRB) and controlled-release nutrients (CRNs). Discusses trial of two zeolite CRNs and MaxBac in PRB at Casey Station, Antarctica, and bioremediation research goals.
