| Abstract: | Presents method for field measurement of critical stress intensity factor, developed for study of uniform-aged snow cover layers on Olaf mountain slope. Experiments demonstrate that conditions of plane deformation in sample are met. Establishes conformity of observed tensile load and deformations with those calculated by finite-element method. Obtains dependences of critical stress intensity factor on snow layer temperature and depth. |
