| Abstract: | Examines two hypotheses recently aimed at explaining palisade relief genesis in Kuray basin/sink in Altay (Altai) mountains. Both explain that sink formed in fluvioglacial deposition as result of seismodislocation or cryogenic-erosional processes. Presents evidence to show that deposition-contenting palisades is not fluvioglacial, and that palisades themselves cannot be generated by seismodislocations or cryogenic-erosional processes. |
