Title: Комплексные исследования гидрометеорологической и ледовой обстановки в северо-западной части шельфа Каспийского моря на основе данных спутниковых и экспедиционных наблюдений и модельных расчетов
Title, transliterated: Kompleksnye issledovanii︠a︡ gidrometeorologicheskoĭ i ledovoĭ obstanovki v severo-zapadnoĭ chasti shelʹfa Kaspiĭskogo mori︠a︡ na osnove dannykh sputnikovykh i ėkspedit︠s︡ionnykh nabli︠u︡deniĭ i modelʹnykh raschetov / A.V. Frolov, and 6 others.
Translated title: Complex studies of hydrometeorological and ice conditions on the northwestern shelf of the Caspian Sea based on satellite and expedition observational data and model calculations.
Author(s): Frolov, A. V.
Date: 2009.
Language: Russian.
In: Meteorologii︠a︡ i Gidrologii︠a︡. (2009.), Vol. 3 (2009)
Abstract: Reports studies supporting construction of Filanovskiy oil and gas facility. Describes: helicopter-based physical-mechanical observations of level, rafted and hummocked ice, and morphometric observations of ice piling, hummocks and stamukhas; ship-based hydro-radar and echo-sounder studies of seafloor exaration by ice hummocks and stamukhas, and autonomous hydrometeorological and hydrometeorochemical observations from deployed buoys; spaceborne monitoring of ice conditions based on NOAA, TERRA and AQUA data for expedition period, and long-term series of satellite data from which seasonal and interannual variabilities of drift and fast ice were obtained. Calculates sea (lake) level, current and wave characteristics in vicinities of platform and pipeline route and offers tentative specifications concerning hydrometeorological regime.
