Record #191343:
Alaskan limnological surveys using autonomous sensor platforms / Hunter C. Brown, Liza K. Jenkins.
Title: | Alaskan limnological surveys using autonomous sensor platforms / Hunter C. Brown, Liza K. Jenkins. |
Author(s): | Brown, Hunter C. Jenkins, Liza K. |
Date: | 2010. |
In: | Sea Technology. (2010.), Vol. 51(6) (2010) |
Abstract: | Describes use of autonomous sensor platforms for bathymetric and hydrographic surveys on North Slope of Alaska. Notes that extensive water depth information is needed to help identify and map habitats for variety of North Slope organisms (including fish overwintering sites and nursery areas); also that more accurate bathymetric data is necessary to maintain water access throughout Alaskan winter when most lakes freeze completely to lake bed. |
Notes: | Sea Technology. Vol. 51(6) :15-18 (2010). |
