Abstract: Reports nine sightings of grizzly bears (Ursus arctos) in north-eastern Manitoba. Although biological research in region has been conducted regularly since 1965, all sightings have been made since 1996. Increased encounters with grizzly bears in northern Manitoba could result from increased observational effort or from expansion of species' range.
