Abstract: | Provides tabular summary of radiocarbon dates of material from Neolithic sites in Sakhalin and Kuril islands and uses this to provide periodisation of archaeological cultures in Russian Far East. Reconstructs patterns of human adaptation to changing Holocene environment, economic activities, and exploitation of natural resources. Traces shifts in boundaries of cultural zones and deduces patterns of meridional migration. |
