Abstract: | Describes primarily diseases reported among flying Antarctic seabirds. Parasites and associated diseases include ticks, mites, lice and fleas among ectoparasites; and helminths and protozoa among endoparasites. Viral diseases include avian paramyxoviruses (APMV); Birnavirus infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV); avian influenza virus (AI); arboviruses; egg drop syndrome caused by adenovirus. Bacterial and fungal diseases include Pasteurella multocida; gastrointestinal bacteria; Lyme disease Borrelia. |
