Abstract: | Reports on history of visitation to emperor penguin colony at Amanda Bay since its discovery in 1956, and examines quality of information collected with regard to its usefulness in terms of population analyses. Also reports results of first winter visit in 2008 with specific purposes of estimating number of birds present, and highlighting need for long term monitoring programmes to assess future viability of emperor penguins. |
