| Abstract: | Describes fate of members of crew of Sv. Pavel who disappeared on coast of Alaska during Second Kamchatka Expedition, commanded by Chirikov. Suggests that, contrary to belief that they had perished, in fact they deserted and remained in Alaska, where they had warm welcome from native Indians. This conclusion is based on analysis of local oral history and genealogical studies in Alaska. |
