Record #190420:

Ecosystem impact of large whales in the North Pacific / Donald A. Croll, Raphael Kudela, Bernie R. Tershy.

Title: Ecosystem impact of large whales in the North Pacific / Donald A. Croll, Raphael Kudela, Bernie R. Tershy.
Author(s): Croll, Donald A.
Kudela, Raphael.
Tershy, Bernie R.
Date: 2007.
Publisher: Berkeley, CA: University of California Press
In: Whales, whaling and ocean ecosystems. (2007.),
Abstract: Assesses potential trophic impact of historical removal of large whales from North Pacific pelagic ecosystem. Uses estimates of prey biomass consumption rates for each whale species, estimates of pre- and post-exploitation whale populations, estimates of trophic level and trophic transfer efficiencies, and estimates of net primary production of ecosystem.
