| Abstract: | Determines cryochrons and thermochrons (cold and warm periods) of Late Pliocene, Eopleistocene, Pleistocene and Holocene in Siberia, based on geocryological interpretation of Baikal climatic chronicle for last 5 million years. Chronicle has been constructed from diatom and biogenic silica content of lake bottom deposits. Presents and discusses simplified chronology for Late Cenozoic (last 3.5 million years); and detailed one for Brunhes epoch (last 800 thousand years) of Neopleistocene. |
