Record #189485:

Reproduction and mortality of the High Arctic wolf, Canis lupus arctos, in Northeast Greenland, 1978-1998 / Ulf Marquard-Petersen.

Title: Reproduction and mortality of the High Arctic wolf, Canis lupus arctos, in Northeast Greenland, 1978-1998 / Ulf Marquard-Petersen.
Author(s): Marquard-Petersen, Ulf.
Date: 2008.
In: Canadian Field-Naturalist. (2008.), Vol. 122(2) (2008)
Abstract: Investigates reproduction and mortality of High Arctic wolf (Canis lupus arctos) through temporal and spatial analysis of data on litter sizes from direct counts of pups from 1978-1998. Finds pack and litter size to be strongly correlated, with large packs (four to seven adults) producing significantly more pups than smaller packs. Mean maximum litter sizes from 17 North American studies suggest that maximum productivity of wolves in Greenland was 58% below that of wolves elsewhere.
