Движение льда в Антарктическом ледниковом покрове

Title: Движение льда в Антарктическом ледниковом покрове
Title, transliterated: Dvizhenie lʹda v Antarkticheskom lednikovom pokrove / V.P. Epifanov.
Translated title: Ice movement in the Antarctic ice sheet.
Author(s): Epifanov, V. P.
Ėpifanov, V. P.
Date: 2008.
Language: Russian.
In: Materialy Gli︠a︡t︠s︡iologicheskikh Issledovaniĭ. (2008.), Vol. 105 (2008)
Abstract: Describes rheological experiments supporting ice sheet model that incorporates depth-change of rheology based on analysis of deformation curves. Depth of transitional layer between primarily elastic and primarily viscous flows is calculated from elastic limits and yield points as functions of temperature and stress, and treatment of ice structure is based on recovered ice cores. Experiments involve quasi-uniform deformation of dumbbell-form samples under loading. Examines influence of initial isotropy of polycrystalline ice on deformation curve and estimates elastic and non-reversible components of total deformation in cyclic 1-D compression. Describes finite-element modelling reproducing observed deformations. Obtains shear stress dependence on lateral constraint for use in constructing deformation isofields in ice sheet.
