Четвертичное оледенение в горах Сибири как результат взаимодействия гляциальных и мерзлотных процессов

Title: Четвертичное оледенение в горах Сибири как результат взаимодействия гляциальных и мерзлотных процессов
Title, transliterated: Chetvertichnoe oledenenie v gorakh Sibiri kak rezulʹtat vzaimodeĭstvii︠a︡ gli︠a︡t︠s︡ialʹnykh i merzlotnykh prot︠s︡essov / V.S. Sheĭnkman.
Translated title: Quaternary glaciaiton in the Siberian mountains as a result of glacial and permafrost processes interaction.
Author(s): Sheĭnkman, V. S.
Date: 2008.
Language: Russian.

Abstract: Examines glaciation specificity in mountains of Siberia in relation to glacio- and cryogenesis. Analyzes glacial environments and possible development scenarios, arguing that glaciation has been mainly mountain in character, becoming reticular under most suitable conditions of Late Pleistocene. Environments have been characterized by interaction of cryogenic and glacier ice, with cryoaridization determining environmental cooling against background of increasing climate continentality. Glaciers have generally experienced low snow accumulation, relying on cold storage and supply from superimposed ice. Finds no evidence of ancient glaciations, but good correlation between cold units in palaeoclimate records and cryogenic epochs. Views glaciation in Siberian mountains as process superimposed upon and supplementing cryogenesis.
