Record #189279:

Spatial and temporal distribution and the potential for estuarine interactions between wild and hatchery chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) in Taku Inlet, Alaska / Carl Reese, and 4 others.

Title: Spatial and temporal distribution and the potential for estuarine interactions between wild and hatchery chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) in Taku Inlet, Alaska / Carl Reese, and 4 others.
Author(s): Reese, Carl.
Date: 2009.
In: Fishery Bulletin. (2009.), Vol. 107(4) (2009)
Abstract: Investigates habitat use and migration timing of wild and hatchery chum salmon (Oncorhynchus teka) fry in Taku Inlet, south-eastern Alaska. Specific objectives are: to compare abundance of wild and hatchery chum salmon fry raised under early and late rearing strategies in different habitats; to compare body size and condition of groups of fry in different habitats; and to document environmental factors that could explain distribution and size of fry. Results demonstrate that timing of release of hatchery fry may affect interactions with wild fry.
