Abstract: Reports study to compare nutrient and food intake of Saami still engaged in reindeer herding (RS) and Saami not involved in reindeer herding (NRS) with other northern Swedish populations (controls). Finds that RS have higher overall intake of energy for both females and males (but not total food intake) compared with controls and NRS. Overall Saami diet is characterised by higher proportion of energy from protein and fat.
