Record #188958:

Brown bear (Ursus arctos) predation of broad whitefish (Coregonus nasus) in the Mackenzie Delta region, Northwest Territories / Oliver E. Barker, Andrew E. Derocher.

Title: Brown bear (Ursus arctos) predation of broad whitefish (Coregonus nasus) in the Mackenzie Delta region, Northwest Territories / Oliver E. Barker, Andrew E. Derocher.
Author(s): Barker, Oliver E.
Derocher, Andrew E.
Date: 2009.
In: Arctic. (2009.), Vol. 62(3) (2009)
Abstract: Reports evidence of at least one brown bear (Ursus arctos) predating and caching broad whitefish (Coregonus nasus) at Pete's Creek, tributary of Mackenzie River. Considers possibility that, in resource-poor landscape, migrating broad whitefish may play important role in foraging ecology of some Arctic brown bears.
