Record #188926:

Terrestrial vegetation and environments on Heard Island / D.M. Bergstrom, P.M. Selkirk.

Title: Terrestrial vegetation and environments on Heard Island / D.M. Bergstrom, P.M. Selkirk.
Author(s): Bergstrom, D. M.
Selkirk, P. M.
Date: 2000.
Abstract: Presents data from general vegetation survey on sub-Antarctic Heard Island in 1986-87. Describes baseline framework of environmental conditions affecting vegetation on island still emerging from effects of last glacial maximum, and provides classification (TWINSPAN) analysis based on presence/absence data of both vascular plant species and bryophyte taxa. Distinct suites of taxa were identified, some containing bryophytes only, and fifteen ecological groups were delineated. Discusses ecological amplitude of important bryophyte and vascular plant taxa on Heard Island.
Notes:

Offprint: Papers and Proceedings of the Royal Society of Tasmania. Vol. 133(2) :33-46.
