Record #188904:

Arctic climate - present and future / Ola M. Johannessen.

Title: Arctic climate - present and future / Ola M. Johannessen.
Author(s): Johannessen, Ola M.
Date: 2007.
Publisher: Bergen: Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center
Abstract: Reports prediction for Arctic region of strong increase in temperature and significant decrease in sea ice cover. Blue (ice-free) Arctic Ocean is predicted during summertime at end of 21st century or earlier. However, recent IPCC-coupled climate models also indicate wide spread of results. Recent studies also indicate that most of annual decrease in ice extent can be explained by increase of CO₂ in atmosphere, and that ice extent is reduced faster than IPCC models predict.
