Record #188680:

Ecology of stone-encrusting organisms in the Greenland Sea - a review / Piotr Kuklinski.

Title: Ecology of stone-encrusting organisms in the Greenland Sea - a review / Piotr Kuklinski.
Author(s): Kuklinski, Piotr.
Date: 2009.
In: Polar Research. (2009.), Vol. 28(2) (2009)
Abstract: Describes fauna colonising stones in Greenland Sea. Summarises current state of knowledge about ecology of organisms inhabiting substrata across range of depths, from intertidal zone to deeper parts of continental shelf. In intertidal zone, no stable or developed assemblage on rocks is visible. In contrast, below intertidal zone rich and abundant fauna starts to appear on substrata. Both biotic and abiotic processes seem to shape stone assemblages in subtidal zone.
