Abstract: Reports agreement of draft guidelines for ships operating in polar waters by International Maritime Organization's Sub-Committee on Ship Design and Equipment. Guidelines include chapters on construction, equipment, operations (including crewing), environmental protection and damage control. Guidelines are intended for all ship types and sizes and should be applied to new and existing ships.
