Abstract: Discusses two different management models implemented by Norwegian government to ensure that Saami are included in management of reindeer stocks and that governance has increased legitimacy: corporative management model and co-management model. Corporative management model involves few democratically elected reindeer owners representing whole industry. Co-management model involves government delegation of several management functions to reindeer-owners' representatives on boards at local, regional and national levels.
