Abstract: Reports first confirmed case of swine flu in Nunavik. Notes that virus had already spread to South Baffin, Sanikiluaq and James Bay creek communities south of Nunavik. Also notes that researchers are investigating link between high rates of respiratory syncytial virus in Nunavut and vulnerability of Inuit to swine flu, and examining other risk factors which could affect immunity (smoking, overcrowding, prematurity, and lack of breast feeding)
