Условия и ход дегляциации в краевой зоне Антарктиды

Title: Условия и ход дегляциации в краевой зоне Антарктиды
Title, transliterated: Uslovii︠a︡ i khod degli︠a︡t︠s︡iat︠s︡ii v kraevoĭ zone Antarktidy / S.R. Verkulich.
Translated title: Conditions and regime of the last deglaciation in the edge zone of Antarctica.
Author(s): Verkulich, S. R.
Date: 2009.
Language: Russian.
In: Kriosfera Zemli. (2009.), Vol. 13(2) (2009)
Abstract: Analyzes available palaeogeographic data from 13 ice-free Antarctic land areas (oases) for global and local influences on Late Pleistocene-Holocene deglaciation processes. Examines records of climate, sea-level and estimated rate of deglaciation for last 10-13 kyr. Identifies rapid initial deglaciation phase in all areas due to warming and relative sea level rise (11-8.5 kyr BP). General coastal deglaciation continued through colder climate 8-5.5 kyr BP and replacement of relative sea level rise with fall, except for limited re-advance where floating ice fronts met uplifting land, and positive glacier balances in "mountain" areas. Warmer period 4.5-2 kyr BP saw continued continental deglaciation, with greater accumulation in "maritime" areas leading to limited expansion of local glaciers. Limited re-advance during last kyr in most areas probably corresponds to Little Ice Age.
