Record #188313:

Temperature proxy records covering the last two millennia: a tabular and visual overview / Fredrik Charpentier Ljungqvist.

Title: Temperature proxy records covering the last two millennia: a tabular and visual overview / Fredrik Charpentier Ljungqvist.
Author(s): Ljungqvist, Fredrik Charpentier.
Date: 2009.
In: Geografiska Annaler. Series A. Physical Geography. (2009.), Vol. 91(1) (2009)
Abstract: Presents first systematic survey, with graphical representations, of quantitative temperature proxy data records appearing in peer-reviewed literature and covering last two millennia. Includes 71 series, 18 of which come from ice core isotopic records or boreholes in glaciers and ice sheets. Amplitudes between maximum and minimum temperatures on centennial timescales in different records range from c. 0.5 to 4°C. Finds Medieval Warm Period, Little Ice Age and 20th century warming clearly visible in most records, whereas Roman Warm Period and Dark Age Cold Period are less discernible.
