Abstract: Reviews recent literature which provides critical information spanning 2,000 years of Inuit life and adaptation to Arctic conditions. Topics covered include: ethnographic descriptions of Cup'ik and Yup'ik ways of life during 1930s; material culture of large Ipiutak feature in north-western Alaska (ca 600-700 AD); and archaeology of Dorset culture (ca 500 BC-1000 AD) in northern Baffin Island.
