| Abstract: | Reports mass balance investigations on 14 glaciers and length change measurements at 32 glaciers (24 in southern Norway and 8 in northern Norway). Detailed reports for 10 glacier areas include mass balance studies and some glacier change and movement analysis. Winter balance was above average for all measured glaciers, except Engabreen and Langfjordjøkelen in northern Norway. Summer balance was about average for southern Glaciers. Langfjordjøkelen in north had lowest summer balance since measurements began in 1989 and twelfth successive net annual deficit. Net balance was positive for eight of twelve measured southern glaciers. Twenty-four glacier outlets retreated (three by 50 metres or more), three advanced and five showed no change. |
