Formation and dissociation processes of gas hydrate composed of methane and carbon dioxide below freezing / Akihiro Hachikubo, and 5 others.
Title: | Formation and dissociation processes of gas hydrate composed of methane and carbon dioxide below freezing / Akihiro Hachikubo, and 5 others. |
Author(s): | Hachikubo, Akihiro. |
Date: | 2004. |
In: | Ocean and Polar Research. (2004.), Vol. 26(3) (2004) |
Abstract: | Describes experiments monitoring pressure and temperature variations during gas hydrate formation and dissociation to understand kinetic behaviour of gas hydrate and investigate factors controlling phase transition below ice point. Gas hydrates were made from guest gases and fine ice powder. Also reports preliminary study of fractionation process of CH₄/CO₂ gas mixture during hydrate formation. Reports that formation and dissociation speeds of gas hydrates were not controlled by temperature and pressure conditions alone and suggests that pressure levels at formation of mixed-gas hydrate determine transient equilibrium pressure itself. |
