Record #188228:

Development of an advanced collector snow fence for high embankment road and its effect / Takeshi Yamada, and 5 others.

Title: Development of an advanced collector snow fence for high embankment road and its effect / Takeshi Yamada, and 5 others.
Author(s): Yamada, Takeshi.
Date: 2008.
Language: Japanese.
In: Journal of Snow Engineering of Japan. (2008.), Vol. 24(4) (2008)
Abstract: Notes failure of conventional snow collector fences on embankments carrying roads to adequately mitigate visibility problems due to blowing snow. Describes development and testing of advanced snow fence, whose performance on roads on embankments is superior to that of conventional fences. Fences are 7-metres high, with highly porous metal slats in upper section reducing wind pressure. Porosity is 80%, 30% and 0% in top, middle and bottom thirds of fence.
Notes:
