| Abstract: | Reports oceanographic data collected during last 20 years in Norwegian and Greenland seas by Institute of Oceanology, Polish academy of Sciences. Data reveal considerable changes in amount of heat transported by West Spitsbergen Current (WSC) into Arctic Ocean. Aim of study is to examine whether fluctuations in heat input by WSC has influenced sea-ice distribution around Svalbard. |
