Abstract: | Describes exploratory study of prevalence of food security in Inuit community of Igloolik. Study identifies high risk groups and characterises conditions which facilitate and constrain food security. Study comprises stratified cross-sectional food survey administered to 50 Inuit community members in July 2007. Finds that 64% of participants experienced some degree of food insecurity from July 2006-July 2007, and that rates of food security greatly exceeded Canadian average. |
