| Abstract: | Investigates frequency distributions of bowhead whale (Balaena mysticetus) size classes as functions of year, location, water depth, and date. Classifies whales by size and status as calves, small sub-adults, large sub-adults, and adults. Age composition of whales photographed over all years of study is: calves 6.2%, small sub-adults 31.4%, large sub-adults 33.3%, and adults 29.1%. |
