Abstract: Reports funding to upgrade NWT's only railway line operated by Canadian National Railway. Line runs 966 km from Hay River to Smith, Alberta, and handles 33,500 rail cars per year, mostly containing fuel, building supplies and chemicals. Upgrade will include new sidings to handle mine materials, petrochemicals and building products such as pipes, aggregate and rock.
