Record #187672:

Elemental and isotopic signatures of soil organic carbon and its relation to vegetation in a successional glacier foreland in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard / Miyuki Kondo, and 5 others.

Title: Elemental and isotopic signatures of soil organic carbon and its relation to vegetation in a successional glacier foreland in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard / Miyuki Kondo, and 5 others.
Author(s): Kondo, Miyuki.
Date: 2008.
Publisher: [Tokyo]: ISAR-1
In: First International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-1) : drastic change under global warming. (2008.),
Abstract: Presents results of project to obtain elemental and isotopic signatures of soil organic carbon in successional glacier foreland sites. Also examines radiocarbon and associated δ¹³C changes with depth to consider whether systematic variation may be capturing elements of vegetation change. Finds carbon content of surface soil decreases gradually toward glacier, but identifies no clear trend along line transect in deep soil layer.
