Record #187637:

Association between ADHD symptoms and adolescents' psychosocial well-being: a study of the northern Finland birth cohort 1986 / Anja M. Taanila.

Title: Association between ADHD symptoms and adolescents' psychosocial well-being: a study of the northern Finland birth cohort 1986 / Anja M. Taanila.
Author(s): Taanila, Anja M.
Date: 2009.
In: International Journal of Circumpolar Health. (2009.), Vol. 68(2) (2009)
Abstract: Reports investigation of psychosocial well-being of adolescents with and without symptoms of attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD). Finds adolescents with ADHD symptoms consider psychosocial well-being to be poorer than those without ADHD symptoms. Emphasises importance of recognising most impaired adolescents needing special attention at school as well as in social interactions with peers and families. Argues that, from public health perspective, information is essential to focus society's limited resources on those with higher risk of experiencing complicated outcomes.
