| Abstract: | Presents analysis of multiple core samples collected along transect from Chukchi Sea/Bering Sea shelf across Bering Strait. Characterises sedimentary organic matter in terms of bulk elemental, isotopic and molecular properties. Also observes systematic variations in molecular-level composition of organic matter. Discusses implications of findings for application of molecular markers as proxies of organic matter input, and of past marine and continental environmental conditions. |
