In: Canadian Field-Naturalist. (2007.), Vol. 121(4) (2007)
Abstract: Presents comparison of winter diets of Western Arctic Herd caribou (Rangifer tarandus) from 1995/96 and 2005 using microhistological faecal analysis on samples collected at paired permanent vegetation transects. Finds changes in diets follow same trends as vegetative changes documented in long-term studies in north-western Alaska, with lichens significantly less prevalent between 1995/96 and 2005, and graminoids significantly more prevalent.
