| Abstract: | Investigates baroclinic instability of Northern Hemisphere using expansion in 3-D normal mode functions to obtain system of 3-D spectral primitive equations in terms of spectral expansion coefficients. Linearizes equations with respect to monthly mean zonal basic state in order to study barotropic-baroclinic instability. |
