Record #187506:

Erosion of permafrost coasts in the Arctic: mechanisms and trends / David Atkinson, Stanislav Ogorodov, Hugues Lantuit.

Title: Erosion of permafrost coasts in the Arctic: mechanisms and trends / David Atkinson, Stanislav Ogorodov, Hugues Lantuit.
Author(s): Atkinson, David.
Ogorodov, Stanislav.
Lantuit, Hugues.
Date: 2008.
Publisher: [Tokyo]: ISAR-1
In: First International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-1) : drastic change under global warming. (2008.),
Abstract: Reviews nature of modifications to Arctic coastal erosion processes introduced by ice. Also discusses aspects of Arctic storminess and issues associated with storm identification. Notes that storm activity is principal forcing agent driving coastal erosion but, in Arctic, presence of terrestrial and marine ice strongly modifies erosion response at specific coastal locations; also that erosion has been increasing at many locations.
Notes:

In: The First International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-1) : drastic change under global warming / Hiroshi L. Tanaka, chairman.
