MERGE is umbrella programme, hosting numerous original IPY proposals, involving examination of prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms in terrestrial, lacustrine and supraglacial habitats in terms of: diversity and biogeography; food webs and ecosystem evolution; and linkages between biological, chemical and physical processes in supraglacial biome. |
