Record #187456:

Late Pleistocene glacial history of Jameson Land, central East Greenland derived from cosmogenic ²⁰Be and ²⁶Al exposure dating / Lena Håkansson, and 6 others.

Title: Late Pleistocene glacial history of Jameson Land, central East Greenland derived from cosmogenic ²⁰Be and ²⁶Al exposure dating / Lena Håkansson, and 6 others.
Author(s): Håkansson, Lena.
Date: 2009.
In: Boreas. (2009.), Vol. 38(2) (2009)
Abstract: Describes use of cosmogenic exposure ages from erratics to reconcile contrasting views of last glaciation on Jameson Land, central East Greenland. Samples 43 erratics resting on weathered sandstone and on sediment-covered surfaces from four areas of interior Jameson Land. Results suggest that Greenland Ice Sheet did not cover Jameson Land during Last Glacial Maximum, but that, during this time and during substantial periods of last (Weichselian) glacial cycle, area was covered by local ice caps with limited erosion potential.
