Abstract: Presents history of Hudson's Bay Company's ship Baychimo, and its various involvement in trading posts in eastern Canada, fur-trading expeditions to Siberia during turbulent years of Russian civil war, and servicing of Company's remote outposts. Includes account of final voyage in 1931 when she was caught in ice floe and abandoned by crew, but floated away intact and was subject of many sightings in subsequent years.
