Record #187389:

Modeling the ocean circulation in the Bering Sea / Haoguo Hu, Jia Wang.

Title: Modeling the ocean circulation in the Bering Sea / Haoguo Hu, Jia Wang.
Author(s): Hu, Haoguo.
Wang, Jia.
Date: 2008.
In: Chinese Journal of Polar Science. (2008.), Vol. 19(2) (2008)
Abstract: Presents simulations of circulation and tidal current in Bering Sea, using three-dimensional Princeton Ocean Model. Simulated circulation pattern in deep basin is relatively stable, cyclonic, and has little seasonal change. Bering Slope Current between 200-1,000 m isobaths is estimated to be 5 Sv in volume transport. Kamchatka Current is estimated to be 5 Sv in volume transport. Bering shelf circulations vary with season, driven mainly by wind. Features are consistent with historical estimates.
Notes:

Chinese Journal of Polar Science. Vol. 19(2) :193-211 (2008).

In special issue Pacific Arctic Group (PAG) model-data fusion studies in Arctic Ocean and subpolar seas.
